A British inventor claims to have developed a gadget that will take the pong out of peeing. Kelvin Hall has released a product that will help make urinals smell fragrant even during heatwaves. His Enviro-Fresh Sani Sleeve is an easily-fitted, re-cyclable plastic tube, filled with an enzyme that breaks down the uric salts. This kills the smelly washroom odours, which are especially prevalent in hot temperatures.
The product has already been installed in city banks, including Deutsche Bank, the Houses of Parliament and the Institute of Directors in London's Pall Mall. Now Kelvin hopes it will soon be a fixture in public toilets too.
According to Kelvin Enviro Fresh Sani Sleeve not only gets rid of the awful smells that invade men’s' washrooms but also dramatically reduces the amount of water wasted during flushing. 'A typical urinal flushes four times an hour, using a gallon of water (four and a half litres) on each occasion,' explains Kelvin. 'My system only needs to be flushed four times a day - reducing water usage by over 90 per cent.'
With his product saving £200 per year for each urinal it is installed in Hall estimates that were there five million urinals in the UK to adopt his invention the British industry could save £1 billion per year.
